When Buying Spectacles On The Web What On Earth Is Your Pupillary Distance?
PD (PD) is the distance between the center of your right pupil (the black circle that contracts and expands depending upon available light) and the center of your left pupil. This measurement is necessary to precisely center the lenses in a specific frame.
You may find that your optician does not want to give you your pupillary distance. This is typically because they know that if they give you too much information, you are likely to go and buy your buy spectacles online. You can always ask for this information from the optician that you paid to assess your vision, but sometimes it can feel a little awkward. If you don’t feel like asking for this, then you can still safely buy your spectacles online, but the fit might not be quite right.
Unless your prescription is a very strong one, an experienced optician, will be able to closely judge what your pupillary distance is on the basis of your gender and the size of your current spectacles. You will then be able to ensure that the spectacles that you buy online are the right size.
The type of spectacles you choose will depend on the types of activities you participate in. Before selecting your eyeglass frames, you should determine what type of lifestyle you lead. This can be done by answering a few questions, such as whether or not you may be a businessperson who is always on the go, or an active person who participates in several different sports, a busy mom whose life is filled with carpooling and other activities involving children, are you a student, a writer, or an artist?
Each of these different lifestyles often requires a different type of spectacles, and some people choose to have several pairs. For instance, suppose you are a businessperson who also participates in several types of sports. The same spectacles that are appropriate for work may not be appropriate for participating in sports. No matter what type of lifestyle you lead, you should choose spectacles that enhance your best features, such as eye and hair color, and the cheap glasses should work well with the shape of your face.
