Treating Acne Vulgaris

Acne vulgaris is usually shortened to the term acne. It’s a skin problem that may start during the teenage years and continue until a person is an adult. Of course, various cures for the problem have already been discovered and sold commercially. Still, there are more and more people who suffer from acne.

One thing you should know is that an acne does not constitute a pimple. If you have one zit on your cheek, that’s a pimple. However, an acne would arise if you have numerous pimples on your face.

Puberty is usually the starting line of acne. This is because the skin starts to secrete lots of oil. Hence, the pore gets blocked and accumulates dirt, causing the pimple. More females suffer from acne although guys have the more severe cases. Here are some things to consider when treating your acne.

Treating Acne Vulgaris

The severity of the condition usually predicts the acne vulgaris treatment used. Mild ones are usually treated with commercial cleansers or toners. Even homemade recipes have been proven to work. Most common products found at home that can be used to fight acne include milk, oatmeal, cucumber and even garlic.

However, severe acne requires much more serious measures. Some acne vulgaris solution for this situation include antibiotics such as erythromycin, clindamycin and tetracycline. However, you would need prescriptions to take these kinds of drugs.

Preventing Acne

When it comes to acne, the best mode of action would be to get rid of the present pimples and prevent the others from erupting. Now, it’s actually easier to learn how to cure acne than getting rid of the ones that are already there. Just by simply keeping your face clean, you could stop pimples from growing back. In fact, if you want to find out how to stop acne, then I suggest you just continue your treatment methods. The use of toners and cleansers is ideal. Also, try eating healthy since this also effects acne.

One thing I have noticed is that people who exercise regularly are less prone on acne breakouts. The reason for this is that the toxins are flushed out by the sweat. Just make sure that you shower after having exercised. When drying up, always remember to pat your face and not rub it vigorously.

Scar Treatment

If you already have scars due to acne, don’t lose hope yet. Orange peels, lemon and cucumber have been known to remove acne scars effectively. Also, you can find over the counter products that can do this for you.

One technology inspired way of removing acne scars is dermabrasion. It’s a process that removes the outer surface of the skin, allowing new skin to grow. However, the amount of time it takes the skin to grow is longer than expected plus the process itself is painful.
