Negative Health Effects of Caffeine
Drinking coffee is an everyday thing for most people. Often they need it to function better in their day-to-day activities. A recent study shows how coffee reduces the effectiveness of drugs like Fosamax. This should be helpful in deciding whether we still want to drink coffee. Here’s a list of the different negative consequences of coffee:
Addictive
Caffeine, which is the main ingredient of coffee, is known for its addictive or habit-forming properties. It works normally alongside common addiction to a drug. Once you start drinking coffee, you will find it difficult to resist drinking it again. The body will look for the coffee’s effect. In the long run, an amount must be increased. Occurrence of feelings of drowsiness and grogginess can happen once the substance is not available.
Diuretic
The presence of diuretic properties can be seen n coffee. The body will then be accustomed to frequent urine discharge. The body may then react negatively if coffee cannot be consumed. Clearly, this will be a problem.
Increased Stress
When coffee is taken in, the body’s response to stress can eb exaggerated. Blood pressure can increase when a person is under stress. Heart problems and other serious medical conditions may occur due to a constant increase in blood pressure.
Hunger
Coffee consumption can also affect the body’s metabolism. The body’s ability to process energy from food digested in the stomach increases once caffeine is present. This will used up a lot of energy which can result to different problems. Hunger will then happen because it will help replenish the lost energy.
Coffee also increases insulin resistance. In order to produce adenosine triphosphate (ATP), it will react with the blood’s sugar. This condition makes the digestive tract unable to process energy. Hunger will then happen.
Teeth Discoloration
Daily consumtion of coffee can stain the teeth, which will make it yellowish in appearance. Confidence due to your unappealing smile will most likely be affected. It can be considered to look like a physical problem. More problems can actually occur from this simple situation. The teeth’s enamel can be affected by any kinds of discoloration. In the future, decay and sensitivity of the teeth will happen. Damaged on the enamel can occur and it can be irreplaceable.
Coffee’s bad effect on a drug called Fosamax was where this discussion originated. Currently, this drug was reported to produce Fosamax femur fractures. Benefits can also be gotten through coffee. These benefits can range from decreasing the risks of Alzheimer’s Disease, its potential anti-diabetic property, and its role as an antioxidant. The benefits of coffee can be cultivated by taking it moderately. Moderate coffe intake will less likely result to bad side effects.
