Daily Skin Care Routines for Youthful, Glowing Skin
If you want to have beautiful skin, you need to care for it. The best way to do this is by developing a daily skin care regimen. By taking a few extra minutes to care for your skin each day, you can easily prevent premature aging. There are three different practices that should be included within every good skin care routine; cleansing, exfoliating, and moisturizing. Let’s take a look at why each of these three practices are so important in your daily skin care routines.
Cleaning – Everyone knows that it is important to keep their skin clean. If you fail to clean your face each day, the dirt that has built up over the course of the day can clog your pores, leading to a variety of skin care issues. In addition (for females), a good morning cleansing will allow for smoother makeup application. (As a general suggestion, you should clean your face twice daily; once in the morning and once before bed|It is generally suggested that you cleanse your face two times each day; morning and night|Whenever possible, cleanse your face twice a day; once when you wake up and once before you go to sleep}.
Exfoliating – As our skin cells age, they can clog our pores and create dryness. Exfoliation helps us to remove these old or dead skin cells, making way for newer, healthier skin cells to arise. Exfoliation is one part of the regimen that does not have to be done each day – 2 to 3 times a week is usually enough.
Moisturize – Whether you have normal, oily, or dry skin, it is always important to moisturize. Lack of moisture is actually one of the leading causes of premature aging. This is why it is important to moisturize at least once or twice each day.
Additional tips:
Okay, so we need to cleanse, exfoliate, and moisturize on a daily (or, in the case of exfoliation, weekly) basis. But there are also many other things that we can do each day to keep our skin youthful and glowing. Let’s take a look:
Maintain a healthy diet – Ever heard the saying ‘you are what you eat?’ It’s very true!. If you eat unhealthy, your body and skin are going to show it. Healthy skin starts with a diet that is rich in vegetables and fruits.
WATER! – Moisturizer helps to moisturize our outer layers of skin. Water helps to moisturize the inner layers. Upon doctors recommendations, try to drink between 6 and 8 glasses of water each day.
Stop your poor habits – There are many habits that we have that can damage our skin. Drinking, tanning, and smoking can all be harmful to our skin (and our bodies!). Each and every one of these habits can cause our skin to age before its time. What can you do if you engage in any of these activities? STOP! Your skin will thank you.
Apply sunscreen – The sun is the number one cause of premature aging. If you are planning to spend any length of time in the sun – apply your sunscreen. Be sure that you apply sunscreen during all seasons – the sun can cause damage regardless of how hot or cold it is.
Use the tips above to create a daily skin care regimen and watch the difference they will make!.
