Are You Setting A Good Example For Your Children By Cigarette Smoking?

Will you be an effective parent? Did you set a good example and be aware that with regards to the learning habits regarding youngsters, exactly what they see is the thing that they can do? We might choose to believe that we set good examples and bring up our little ones correctly. Yet whilst we would make sure to teach them good manners and the ways to behave in polite society, whenever they see us lighting up a cigarette as an element of an apparently habitual regime, any idea what they are going to do after they mature?

Many parents who sadly are also smokers are secretly worried that their children might also turn out to be smokers themselves. They already know that there exists a certain amount of peer pressure mixed up in social situations they might come across as they mature and that this can be they, themselves, were introduced to using cigarettes in their youth. They ought to be clearly conscious that their children are even more inclined to pick up that first cigarette within a social situation if it was “okay” for those years at home. Why not quit smoking, today?

Setting a perfect example is necessary, however, if thinking about the act of smoking maybe it’s a life or death situation. Like an adult you may be well aware of the hazards and have seen, maybe first-hand through others, exactly what can happen should you be defeated with any attempts to stop smoking. That you are duty-bound to dissuade them from starting the habit, but this is of course usually very difficult to do if you’re still doing it yourself. It’s a question of saying one thing and doing another, which is hardly the way to set a good example, after all.

Quite apart from setting an example, children who are forced to grow up in a home where smoking is rampant are far more likely to develop illnesses themselves as a direct result of second-hand smoke inhalation.
