Addicted to Intercourse: What You Need to Know
Craving for Intercourse can turn into an addiction. Although every person has a certain level of intercourse drive, there are those who have an unusually intense obsession with pleasure. A person prioritizes the cravings instead of proper behavior. Pleasure and release may be factors that contribute to addiction.
Origins of Addiction
Being conditioned to pleasure early on may lead to long time addiction. Early exposure to sensual activity leads to a higher level of cravings later on. Some victims find themselves looking for the same release that intercourse afforded even after recovery. For these victims, however, the extreme opposite could also happen. Some victims are likely to abhor any type of sensual activity. Promiscuity at an early age may lead to intercourse addiction in the future. Intercourse becomes a hobby, or a pasttime until the person becomes obsessed by it. It is important for a person to stop porn addiction.
Addiction to intercourse is not always about the act itself. Viewing pornography becomes the venue for release. Pornography obsession may be a separate addiction altogether, but it is closely related with intercourse addiction. Fantasizing about other people and thinking of situations in which sensual activity may happen are also venues for release. Peeping at people who are undressed or having intercourse may also be a side effect of addiction.
Warning signs
Being preoccupied with thoughts of intercourse can be a sign of intercourse addiction. Dome addicts don’t leave home without release so that they can endure during the day. An addict will not be able to bear having to abstain for a long time. If they cannot release, they spend a lot of time poring over explicit photos.
The emotional side of intercourse does not matter to intercourse addicts. They are in it for the pleasure, so it doesn’t matter who they have intercourse with. As a result of this shallow regard for the sensual act, they find it difficult to stay in a relationship without an active intercourse schedule. Although these people often cheat, they don’t see this as cheating, but a release.
Desire Over Reason
Intercourse addicts often find an excuse to indulge their cravings. In case their behavior gets found out and they are subjected to therapy or get berated, they tend to make excuses.
