A Darvocet Lawsuit Is Inevitable
Darvocet or Darvon is a mild synthetic opiate drug that I can be used as a treatment for people who have mild to moderate pains. Medical experts have been using it for more than three decades and favor it over aspirins which are relatively weak painkillers and narcotics which have highly addictive properties. From the time that this drug was discovered, it became one of the most widely prescribed medications in the United States.
A different thing happened when a recall was requested on these products by the Food and Drug Administration. The FDA stated that research were conducted and it was found out that Darvocet also known as Darvon can cause heart problems which were caused by the element proproxyphene, a major component of the drug.
A lot of people reacted that the recall came in quite late because Britain banned the drug around 2005 while the European Union prohibited it around 2009. This late recall was confirmed by Public Citizen, an advocacy group that has been petitioning for the banning of this product since 1978. Around 2006, this group made another petition to banned Darvocet but it was still unsuccessful. The recall is still something to be thankful for despite its lateness. This drug has allegations to have caused the overdose deaths of 589 individuals in the US and is also the cause of a lot of complications experienced by its users. This recall will reduce the statistics of the people who will be affected from the dangers of this product.
